WHAT IS SPECIAL TRANSPORTATION SERVICES?
Special Transportation Services provides an important role to individuals in need- which is to sustain their overall health and treatments while maintaining as independent lifestyle as possible and means of transportation. Yes, Pathways toAchievement- STS Drivers and Staff are trained and are there to assist and meet your needs to ensure a safe trip to your appointment, but the individuals accessing the services we provide will no longer have to depend on family members or loved ones for transportation. Basic means of transportation are ill equipped to meet the overall needs of the individuals that are the best candidates for Special Transportation and would benefit the most from this service.
At the same time, scheduling is convenient and the people that will use STS will no longer have to depend on others schedules in order to make the necessary hospital visits and appointments.
SERVICES WE OFFER:
- Transportation to medical appointments
- Vehicles equipped with power wheelchair lifts
- Additional room for comfort and convenience
- Drivers and Staff trained in transports and safety techniques
- Drivers will ensure that the proper medical paperwork is brought to the appointment and filled out correctly- coordinate information between the appropriate caregivers and physicians
- Scheduling to meet our clients’ needs
- We accept Medicaid and Private Pay- which are the only acceptable and legal means of payment industry wide for Special Transportation
- Private Pay Ambulatory and non-Ambulatory rates are the same:
- $22.00 per pick up
- and $1.75 per mile
- We also offer the service of the Driver accompanying the client to the appointment in order to ensure all the paperwork needed is filled out and relayed to the appropriate parties; along with clarifying any information between the physician, client, and caregivers. This is offered as for a fee of $20.00 an hour with a 1 hour minimum after which it is prorated every 15 minutes.
